Our Tubular Heaters will be discontinued due to electrical compliance. Final orders will be accepted until 31st March 2025, subject to demand and material availability. All units must be sold to end users before the 16th June 2025. We are actively developing an alternative solution so keep an eye on the website for future updates.

IBC Heating Jackets with Digital Control

IBC heating jackets are designed to heat the contents of an IBC, reducing the viscosity of products, or melting solids so they can be poured. Argus Heating’s jackets are fitted with a compact digital temperature controller that provides easy to use, yet precise, temperature control.

Features and benefits

  • The jackets are well insulated, making them very effective and efficient at maintaining heat at the desired temperature. An insulated top cover with center opening is also available and is recommended to increase efficiency and optimise heat-up time.
  • Each heating circuit is controlled by a digital temperature controller, that enables precise temperature control.
  • IBC heating jackets suit most IBC designs. A custom design service is available for non-standard sized IBCs.
  • The approximate warm-up duration is 48 hours to raise a 1000L container of water from +15 ºC to +50 ºC with a 2 x 1000 W jacket with the insulated lid fitted.

Construction

  • Superior PTFE coated polyester jacket. Efficient polyester insulation. Custom made silicone heating cable. Easy quick-release buckles. Two-metre power cord with moulded 3-pin NZ/AUS plug.

Important Considerations

Not for use with cardboard IBC's:

Our heater jackets are designed for usage with bottle-in-cage, metal, and plastic IBCs. Our jackets can only be used with carboard IBCs in emergency melt-out situations and at temperatures below 65°C. This is due to their high level of thermal insulation.

Use low temperature when heating beef tallow:

When heating beef tallow in bottle and cage IBCs, never set the digital controller above 80°C.
Products that absorb heat very slowly can lead to elevated bottle temperatures, resulting in similar risks seen with cardboard IBCs. Setting higher temperatures increases the chance of blowing thermal safety fuses.
For best results, use our 3kW Heater Jacket (HC101) set to 80°C or below. Remember, effective warm-up comes from higher wattage applied safely, not higher set temperatures.

Applications

Typically used for:

  • Reducing the viscosity of greases, fats, and oils.
  • Heating chemicals, paints, and adhesives.
  • Warming cosmetic or chemical ingredients to an optimum temperature for production processes.
