The sheath surrounds a helical coil of nickel- chrome resistance wire, centered and tightly compacted by an electrical insulator and heat transfer medium of magnesium oxide.
Argus Heating typically use Incoloy® for 6.7 mm diameter, titanium for 8 mm diameter, and Incoloy® 800 or Incoloy® 840 for 11 mm diameter.
